Should a water leak occur down the track, having laminate beneath the cabinetry can turn a minor repair into a far more extensive and costly undertaking.

Aesthetically one benefit of putting down the flooring after installing the kitchen cabinetry is that this will let you change the flooring later on if you choose to, without needing to touch or remove your cabinetry, while also avoiding unnecessary spend on flooring that remains permanently hidden from view.
